El mural que cuenta el Canal The mural that tells the Canal

2 min · Panama Stories

On a city wall, a mural tells what books take chapters to explain: a ship crossing the isthmus, the Bridge of the Americas, Panamanian flags, and raised fists.

This is street art in its oldest role: collective memory painted where everyone can see it. The Canal appears as what it truly is for Panamanians — not just a feat of engineering, but a story of work and sovereignty. The raised fists recall the long struggle for a Canal that returned to Panamanian hands in 1999, a story each generation retells in its own way.

We like this piece because it does what we try to do with clothing: take symbols of identity and translate them into a contemporary language, without nostalgia and without excess ornament. The street, like good design, gets to the point.
